Reverse engineering means reverse engineering or reconstructing. Using 3-dimensional scanning technology, the digital copy of an existing object is created. If there is a corrected 3D file of the captured object, then various adjustments, changes or optimizations can be made. The data generated in this way can be used to reproduce an object - at best optimized - using additive manufacturing technologies (SLS/SLM) or based on conventional manufacturing processes such as milling, turning or grinding.
