QuantBoats AG - The future needs an origin

At QuantBoats AG, the story of a wider application of hydrofoil technology is repeated on the Lake Vierwaldstätter, this time in the form of high-speed sailing boats. On September 1, 2015, Quantboats AG of Lucerne carried out the first sailing trials with the Quant 23, a hydrofoil-equipped sailing yacht, on the Vierwaldstättersee. On its first attempt it reached a speed of more than 23 Kn (42Km/h).

The Quant 23 from Switzerland is regarded as the "first foiling keelboat" worldwide.

On January 23, 2016, an international jury awarded the Quant 23 their top prize as "EUROPEAN YACHT OF THE YEAR 2016."

The Swiss Museum of Transport has set up a number of showcases for "foil technology in the maritime sector," prominently featuring the Quant 23. The basic model was produced by Irpd AG, which prepared the 3D data and then lasered the model in PA12. In addition, the model was painted and foiled.
